Weather Project

The brief is to create a book or animation based on the different weather but not using the weather itself which sound confusing but it has to be den that way to be more creative. The first task is to research on the topic you want to base the project on. At first I researched how to get the weather report and I found out that it has a connection with the position of the stars. I then dig deeper and found out that The ancient Chinese created a calendar to show when the position of the star relates to the weather and its called meteorology.

The results of my research has ended me up with the idea to remake the calendar that the ancient chinese created.
Here you can see the circular sketch of zodiac signs and weather patterns relating to it and because I am doing a chinese calendar I then research the letters representing the different kind of weather and partnered it with a colour codes.
I then experimented on how this could be presented on the calendar (picture above)
Now that I am sure to do a calendar as an out come I then research artist and artworks that relates to calendar. I found this calendar full of illustration and I noticed that the colour can relate to the weather as and represent what its like by just colouring the illustration with the right colour.

2 Projects in 2 weeks

The idea that I have for the irony project is to unit the logo of different company that merged. Some example are cadbury and kraft and EE and orange. I think it is a smart way to represent the union of the two companies and it is humorous. The logos are quite well know therefore It is easy to distinguish the ironic side about it. I only had to chose one characteristic on the first logo then apply to the other logo however the result should not be confusing and a little bit straight forward. I am happy on how some of the ideas come up.

I started my 2nd project with a stick figured character that uses his hands and feet to create letters. The plan was to also use the shadow however It wasn't quite possible.

My second idea was to use rope to create letters and not far out of creating the letters I remembered that I have a rainbow coloured shoe lace that can be use instead of a rope so I try to spell out letters as soon as I think of the idea.
This is the final outcome which I am happy about. I like being colourful on my project and this one is naturally like that. It is also playful because the lace is not too stiff and it always just go with the flaw and stay at its position so creating letters using this was not hard but I think creative and smart.
