Lens Base : Day 3

After day two Tom give us a homework. We need to produce a story base on what we learned from Day 2 and take 6 different photograph to show the progression of the story line.

This is a plan of the story I created.

These are my 6 images that will hopefully tell you a story. You decided what the story is

Lens Base : Day 2

The 2nd day of Lens Base was a bit different from the other days because we have to work as a team.
A group of 4 people Jerone,Arron,Habib and Manuel
We were ask to produce characters that we have encountered and symbols or places that gives us different emotions.

After we have drawn and filled the whole A1 paper of all the characters and places, we then need to produced a story based on this characters

This are some guideline that we can follow to create a standard story.

Here is the final outcome. We have three different stories. Each have six different slides that show how the story progress from the introduction of characters to the ending or solution.

Lens Base : Day 1

The first task on the Lens Base rotation week was to select a picture that represent you as a person and try as hard as you can to copy that piece of photography into a drawing or painting.
The tutor then showed us that by covering some part of an image you can see more.
These pictures are example of the things I though was interesting now that they have been focused on

The second half of the day Tom ask the whole class to take pictures and try to incorporate feeling into it. It doesn't necessarily have to have the feelings but it has to convey the emotions, he asked us to also maybe crop these images so we can focus on other imagery that we normal don't notice. This is the 6 imagery that I have produced.

Graphics : Day 3

At the last day of graphics, Andy asked as to think of our future, what would our lives would be if the next 20 years have passed. However this piece of art doesn't really have a designated destination so I used typography and imagery to convey a metaphorical message that best describe my vision of what I will be in the next 20 years, DREAMWORKS! was spread across the paper because I always believe that if you believe in your dreams it will come true eventually and also I am a big fan of Steven Spielberg. This painting should signify that next chapter of the boy on the moon. The boy on the moon was on the dreamworks opening credit. he was using a rod to catch his dream and in this particular image the boy is no longer at the moon, he has grown and learned new ways to catch his dreams and now he doesn't just seat all the he is out there getting all the opportunities to achieve his goals in life.

Timeline

For my timeline I wanted to create a map of all the destination that I visited for that week. It will act as a guide and also a pieces of memory that I will keep forever therefore I decided to put all the photographs that I have collected while on the visit and stick it to the map that i made. I started from the very beginning which was of course Ravensbourne and I finished at the last visit of the Hyde Park. I tried to fit all the pictures that I have gathered to remind me that in that moment I have learned a lot from the visits and this map/collages will constantly remind me of what things a have witnessed and give me great memories that I will always cherish.

Research : Serpentine

After V&A we also visited the "Serpentine Gallery" and saw a really different piece of architecture built there. It was made only from horizontal and vertical white metal bars however it can support many people, you can seat and climb up safely. Me and my new friend Arron decided to look around Hyde Park for statues that we was advice to visit, unfortunately we got lost and had to go back to ask for directions. We then finally got to the destination which was the statue of Peter Pan, It was great and It also relates to theme of memory.

Research : V&A

Another great experience visiting an exhibition like V&A and this time it's a group visit so I was not alone. First we went to the memory palace where a lot of history and stories was told. It felt so dark and emotional so much so that I felt like the story teller is trying to tell a really scary almost like a horror film and I don't like horror films. On the other hand I have learned a lot of the techniques they used to record memories, visualizing every single thing even the smell and the texture of an object or a place should be recorded. The group didn't only visit memory palace but also find fascinating pieces of art especially the award winning ones and it so cool. Illustration, History Art and Photography and many more was used to capture a significant moment or to share an idea which is really amazing.

Research : Design Museum : The Future is Here

This is quite an experience for me because it's the first time that I will visit a exhibition and do a research by myself. It was actually an educating experience because visiting an exhibit by yourself allows you to focus on every single detail and object it has to offer. It was fascinating how materials and production was used in "theFutureisHere", as a product design student in 6th form I have studied a lot different kind of production and materials however some of the process that was made to create this products are not simple. People that contributed to this exhibition was not just an artist they are also an inventor, they try to brake the boundaries to move forward.

Burial

05/09/2013 at 1:00 pm I decided to bury the most important treasure that I have collected through out my entire life. In this plastic bag are objects that are close to my heart, things that have sentimental value. I feel like this plastic contains a lot about me as a person maybe because each object has a story specifically made by myself. A memory that no one can ever have but me. It feels like I am burying a part of me and it's really hard to let go of this things but hopefully through time someone will uncover my memory and create a connection to the person that I am or was.
